In order to get this visa, you must
have a relative who is willing and able to sponsor you, and is either
Australian citizen/Australian permanent resident or an eligible New
Zealand citizen.
Your relative/sponsor must be one of
the following: parent, child, brother/sister, uncle/aunt or
niece/nephew.
The main advantage of this is the fact that it
has a lower pass mark-only 110 points. In addition to that, you are
awarded 15 points for relationship to your sponsor.

However,
you should be aware of one serious restriction that concerns Skilled
– Australian Sponsored visa applicants whose sponsor live in
Sydney, Gosford, Newcastle or Wollongong. Such applicants must
nominate an occupation that is on the Sydney
and Selected Areas Skilled Shortage List (SSASSL).
This list is significantly shorter than the Skilled Occupations
List.
Skilled-Australian Sponsored Student visa also has the
pass mark of 110 and 15 points for relationship with the Australian
sponsor can be claimed. Unlike with the Skilled-Independent Overseas
Student visa, you can apply for this visa subclass even if your
nominated occupation is worth only 50 points (and you do not need to
have a doctorate for that). Your nominated occupation does not need
to be listed in SSASSL, either-you can nominate any occupation from
the Skilled Occupations List.
Please note that the information about visas is in general terms. There
are many subclasses of visas that may be appropriate to your personal
and unique situation that we can advise you about . Furthermore , the
law concerning migration is subject to frequent amendment.
